Lucas Creighton Run Club
Welcome back to Post Up Radio, serving you mixes that shouldn’t make sense, but somehow pull it together.
This week we’re proud to host our first guest, the illustrious Portland-bred, Brooklyn-based photographer Lucas Creighton. He’s flicked up some of your favorite artists, including Amine, Brockhampton and Omar Apollo. Not to mention he’s done editorial campaigns for the likes of Hood By Air. We’re calling this episode “Lucas Creighton Run Club” because this guy runs several miles, twice a day. Last summer he ran a marathon just to feel something. If you ever see a lanky dude sprinting 20 miles per hour through a Hasidic neighborhood, you already know who it is.
His mix is live on Post Up Radio, and we’ll send you all the full track list on Thursday.
Below is a brief Q&A with none other than Lucas himself.
What music has gotten you through the pandemic?
The Mk.gee project was very therapeutic. The three main things that really got me through 2020 were Mk.gee’s A Museum of Contradiction, Brian Eno & Harold Budd’s “An Arc Of Doves”, and (Sandy) Alex G’s Rocket.
What music did your parents play for you growing up?
Truly all over the map. My mom loved the 70s and 90s, and would play a lot of music from those decades. The Beatles, Babyface (everything he touched), Luther Vandross, The Isley Brothers, Pink Floyd. She used to love listening to Casey Kasem’s countdown shows, and she’d always comment on her favorite songs throughout the broadcast.
Who’s your guilty pleasure to listen to?
The Killers, specifically Hot Fuss
